Youth Service Strategy Review

Working in partnership with ARAD Consulting, ProMo-Cymru engaged groups of young people across Wales to capture their personal experiences of their involvement with the Youth Service for the Welsh Assembly Government.  The aim of the consultation was to determine whether the Youth Service Strategy had improved and impacted on the services they receive.

Methodology: In order to assist young people exploration of the issues and to determine whether services meet their requirements, a participative workshop was designed to engage the young people through various stages, with the end result being a personal “map”.

Their personal map highlighted the length of time they had been attending a particular provision, their interests, those met by the youth services and those that weren’t, improvements made to their provision, areas where they encountered barriers, identifying areas where they were involved in planning the service and where their opinions were acted upon when raising an issue.
