Cardiff Youth Magazine Feasibility Study

Cardiff Youth Magazine Feasibility Study

ProMo-Cymru were commissioned by Ifanc, the Cardiff Children and Young People’s Partnership to carry out a feasibility study for a city-wide publication for young people.

Methodology: Quantitative research was carried out with young people using offline questionnaires, consulting on style, frequency, content and issues.  Working with youth organisations across the city, ProMo-Cymru was able to determine how the project could be incorporated into their existing activities and aims.

Local and National youth publications were researched, both in their content and methods of production with young people and this led to the development of a “best-practice model” to establish a workable youth-led structure.  This structure for gathering and producing content incorporated working with young people from diverse backgrounds and partnership work with youth organisations.

This research was used to inform the development of TheSprout and CLIC with the structure applied and developed as Youth Editorial Groups to guide the overall development of the websites, with young people instigating activities as well as reporting and publicising events, news and achievements.
