CLIC History

CLIC ConferenceIn October 2008, ProMo-Cymru was awarded the contract for the third development phase of CLIC. This four-year project places an emphasis on user-led content, providing a range of opportunities for young people and partner organisations to become involved in sharing instances of best practice across Wales.

TheSprout

ProMo-Cymru has successfully run TheSprout since 2007 and proved that a youth-led editorial group and user generated content are the best way to engage with young people. This model was adopted for CLIC and its regional network.

United Nations – Rights of the Child

CLIC is part funded by Reaching the Heights and is an important project for the Welsh Assembly Government. The CLIC project facilitates Articles 12, 13 and 17 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in relation to young people’s right to participate in decisions that affect their lives, to share information and their right to accurate information through mass media.

The ultimate aim of the CLIC project is the personal and social development of young people, providing accurate and up-to-date information they need, empowering them to make informed decisions in their lives as active citizens.
