theSprout.co.ukTheSprout Update

TheSprout's Official Launch took place on Tuesday 4 November in Clwb Ifor Bach, where The Lord Mayor of Cardiff and members of the site’s Editorial Group did a grand job of talking before a capacity crowd.

The buffet was a hit (thanks, AJ's) and bands May Contain Nuts, The Rhythm Method and The Bicycle Thieves did us proud. Compere Henry Widdicombe and comedians Jared Hardy and Charlie Perkins also showed their mettle before what was at times a 'lively' crowd, while improvisational act, Ludus Ludius, won us all over on pure bizarreness!

CLICCLIC is all set to take off!

Since securing the four-year contract for the Welsh Assembly Government-funded CLIC project in September, ProMo-Cymru has been moving ahead at full steam in developing it.

After several consultations with young people across Wales, ProMo-Cymru together with key partner, Burning Red, has come up with some refreshingly creative logos and initial design concepts for the national youth information and advice website.

Recognising the need to utilise interactive technology to provide information and advice in a range of formats that suit and appeal to young people, the new website with its edgy look and youth-led content will be noticeably different from its previous incarnations.

Led by young people for young people in providing information about what’s happening, news, issues, events and opportunities, the website will also comprise local and regional components with links into regional authority websites where specific local information can be accessed.

As such, ProMo-Cymru has been in close contact with representatives from various local authorities to explain the new concept of CLIC and to discuss working together through strategic partnerships.

To allow key stakeholders and young people to better understand CLIC and to contribute their ideas toward its development, an all-day event entitled CLIC Check-in: The Future of the National Information and Advice Service for Young People Aged 11-25 in Wales, will take place on Wednesday 17 December at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea. Jane Hutt AM, Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skill, will be officiating at the event.

If you would like to secure a place at the event please contact event management team on 029 2069 4900 or email clic@quadrant.uk.com
