RuMble - European Soundclash
ProMo Cymru organised a youth exchange project that took place from August 13th to August 20th 2007: RuMble - European Soundclash.
Young unsigned bands, from four European countries came together for one week in Cardiff to share their cultures with each other and local people. Cardiff and surroundings people enjoyed the performances of:
- a Swedish indie rock / pop band, Stripes of Blue Sky,
- an Estonian Jazz / folk band, Külaline,
- a French Gypsy Jazz band, Samgratlorey,
- a Welsh Progressive Shanty band, Fredrick Stanley Star
- and another Welsh band, Johnny and the Bandits (indie/rock).
The performances took place in several venues throughout Cardiff: Buffalo, Callaghan’s, and Cathays Community Centre. On top of that, the project included loads of creative workshops open to everybody, such as African drumming and MCing, instrument making, and juggling (Grassroots and Cathays Community Centre).
To carry through this project, ProMo Cymru created a partnership with three European cultural associations, UNG Vagabond in Sweden, Kandlekoda in Estonia and Presse Purée in France, allowing them to develop their activities and network to a European extent. The project aims to be a pilot for future cooperation between cultural European associations as well as between young European artists.
The EU Programme Youth in Action sponsored the project.

Review in Buzz Magazine
Our first CD compilation has been reviewed in the latest issue of Buzz Magazine
Here is what they said:
"This is a new Cardiff label promoting (mainly) dance music from the area, across a pretty wide spectrum. Emil from the label suggests concentrating on a couple of faves from this 10-track comp, but then the others will feel left out. It's a tough life, though, so let's hype AP Bolan's Evolver - dubbed-out quasi-d'n'b/techno with a Neil Landstrumm-ish thing going on - and SALO's Basic Function, obese electrohouse the likes of which you might hear in, say, a Justice set. Blud Kunnektion and Dan Marshall also represent ably."
Review by Noel G.

Make the news - Your Wales Today
BBC Wales is producing a programme called Your Wales Today and it is a weekly news programme which has already started on BBC2W.
BBC is looking to hear about any news stories in communities around Wales. It might just be tip-offs about stories or it might be a short, news video piece that a community group or individual has put together themselves. It may just be 30 seconds of somebody talking directly to the camera about an issue they feel really strongly about.
Stories can be on a range of subjects from trying to establish a new skate park in a community to bullying, alcoholism or fighting an illness - anything really that tells a really good story and is very personal.
Material used would probably be short, about 30 seconds to two-minutes long, but we can edit it.
