Young reporters needed
ProMo launches a new website – the Sprout – with the latest events, a database of services and the hottest local bands around. Young people and organisations will be able to input information on events directly onto the site.
ProMo has consulted several groups of young people on the design and the content of the website and it is now mid construction, due for a launch date in June.
The new website, which is funded by Ifanc – Cardiff Young Peoples Partnership, will be maintained by young people, so this is your chance to get involved. Working for the website will offer you the opportunity to learn how the site has been constructed, and ProMo can even offer you training in web design, reporting, photography and video making.
If you’re interested in being part of the editorial team, drop us a line at audrey@promo-cymru.org or call 029 2046 2222!
Your Voice Your Choice workshops
To inspire young people to become actively involved in decision-making, ProMo Cymru helped setting up the Your Voice Your Choice workshop. It provides information on where and how young people can become involved in youth forums and school’s councils. Funded by the National Assembly for Wales and ESF, the project is a partnership between ProMo Cymru and Casbah/Working Word PR.
Delivering across Wales, the project facilitates young people’s participation from a broad range of social backgrounds and abilities.
Workshops have so far already been a great success in Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Monmouth areas and Gilfach Goch.
If you would like to discuss the free workshops please contact Marco on 029 2046 2222 or email marco@promo-cymru.org.
