This video will be shown to young people, professionals and other organisations working with young people. It will also encourage other young carers to access the support that is there for them.

Commissioned by British Red Cross in Ceredigion, the video juxtaposes the types of lives they dream of having with the lives they are leading now with.

Young carers from Ceredigion were involved during the three days of planning and filming. They had the opportunity to gain the wider key skills of Working with Others, Improving Own Learning and Performance and Problem Solving, and completed an Agored Cymru accreditation in Video Stories Level 2, earning three credits.

The professional post-production of the video is now being carried out by ProMo-Cymru and it will soon be ready for viewing.

We are having the hall fully refitted with a brand new bar, stage, PA system and lights.

There will also be a brand new cafe area and a professional-standard recording studio with an internationally recognised producer.

We are looking at a grand re-opening event in early April and the next live music event is scheduled for 19 April when we proudly present the magnificent Amy Wadge and Pete Riley in support of their new album.

The Cultural Café will also feature acoustic acts on a regular basis to compliment your evening.

But it’s not all music though, we regularly have political and alternative speakers and on 4 May we will have a course in Shamanic Journeying. There are also a number of courses run through Coleg Gwent and UHOVI.

All suggestions for future events welcome and we look forward to welcoming all visitors old and new to this exciting regeneration of one of Ebbw Vale’s most iconic buildings.

We brought two young reporters to the event, who were particularly interested to know how young people would be affected by these changes. Interviewing some of the key speakers after their presentations, they were able to produce 4 short videos which sum up the changes affecting young people – covering issues ranging from disability support to bedroom tax – delivered in a way that is easy for young people to understand.
