TheSprout is the local CLIC website for Cardiff in partnership with Ifanc, the Cardiff Children & Young People's Partnership providing news, information on activities and support services available to young people in the city aged 11-25.
This multimedia platform has been developed, branded and designed with young people and provides a mechanism for them to express themselves, their creativity - the content is generated by young people as its users.
It is inclusive of all young people regardless of religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or ethnicity.
TheSprout facilitates young peoples' '10 entitlements,' the rights and responsibilities of young people as set out by the Welsh Assembly Government and is in line with the European Youth Information Charter in setting guidelines for information services to young people across the continent.
The site has been live and operational since October 2007 with the numbers of registered users increasing dramatically every month. The website has a youth-led Editorial Group responsible for writing, reporting, photographing, designing, promoting and anything else they feel should be included. They also make decisions on content and technical changes.
Both young people and the organisations that work with or support young people have the opportunity to register with the website, upload their own content, news features and events.
If you are interested in joining the Editorial Group or would like further information about the website please contact the new Editorial Coordinator, arielle@thesprout.co.uk
