Dr Len Arthur has been Head of the Co-operatives Research Institute in the Business School of the University of Wales Cardiff, and involved in further and higher education in Cardiff since 1974. Although recently retired he is continuing with research into cooperatives and the social economy which he started to be involved with 10 years ago and has published widely in the UK and internationally.
Anthony Brito has 27 years of management experience, gained in private, community, voluntary and public sectors. This includes several senior posts in both a paid and voluntary capacity. He was the founder of ProMo-Cymru in 1997, whilst working as a Director of the South Wales Co-operative Development Association. He has since served as the company Chairman from 2004 to 2007. Anthony is currently teaching Community Development and Community Enterprise at the University of Wales, Swansea.
After completing a Law degree in 1999, Andy spent 12 months teaching English in Chile to local business people and corporate executives. On return, he began working for Legal & General and now works in its Group Compliance department as a Compliance Analyst. Most of his experience is around systems and controls in a business structure, training and competence programmes and performance monitoring.
Since completing a law degree in 1995, Ceri has primarily worked within the Finance and Business Sector. For the last 16 years, she has worked for Lloyds Banking Group in a number of management roles. She is currently a Manager within the motor finance arm of Black Horse Finance and brings with her a strong background in people management through extensive experience of team development, motivation, performance management plus a high level of knowledge in Risk Management.
Mike Bowden is a previous client of ProMo-Cymru who was asked to join the board. Having established a graphic design partnership called Word Up Design, his work for Cardiff Council developed into a full-time post as New Media/Publicity Officer. Mike now works as a sole trader, and in addition, Mike provides IT tuition in a wide range of graphics skills such as web design and animation. Throughout this time he has worked closely with the local voluntary organisations, community arts and co-operative development sectors.
