Dr Len Arthur - Chairman

Dr Len Arthur has been Head of the Co-operatives Research Institute, University of Wales Cardiff, Business School and involved in further and higher education in Cardiff since 1974. Although recently retired he is continuing with research into cooperatives and the social economy which he started to be involved with 10 years ago and has published widely in the UK and internationally.

Simon Harris

Simon has been with the Wales Co-operative Centre since January 1992 and its Chief Executive since March 2004. The Centre provides business support and training services to both new and existing co-operatives throughout Wales and is the largest co-operative development agency in the UK.

Anthony Brito

Anthony Brito has twenty seven years of management experience, gained in private, community, voluntary and public sectors. This includes several senior posts in both a paid and voluntary capacity. He was the founder of ProMo-Cymru in 1997, whilst working as a Director of the South Wales Co-operative Development Association. He has since served as the company Chairman from 2004 to 2007. Currently teaching Community Development and Community Enterprise at the University of Wales, Swansea.

Andy Mulley

After completing a Law degree in 1999 Andy spent 12 months teaching English in Chile to local business people and corporate executives. On return, he began working for Legal & General and now works in its Group Compliance department as a Compliance Analyst. Most of his experience is around systems and controls in a business structure, training and competence programmes and performance monitoring.

Karen Wilkie

Deputy General Secretary for the Co-Operative party for 13 years.  Karen brings to ProMo-Cymru a range of business skills and networks and is on the board of a number of innovative community media and drama organisations.

Mike Bowden

Mike Bowden is a previous client of the organisaiton who was asked to join the board of ProMo-Cymru.  Having established a graphic design partnership T/A Word Up Design, work for Cardiff Council developed into a full-time post as New Media/Publicity Officer (2001 onwards). Self-employment continues, now as a sole trader, and in addition Mike provides IT tuition in a wide range of graphics skills i.e. web design, animation, etc. Throughout this time he has worked closely with the local voluntary, community arts and cooperative development sectors.
